A challenging and exciting opportunity at one of the leading hospitals in the NHS has arisen within the Procurement Department. Reporting to the Head of Contracts Non-Clinical you will be responsible for a portfolio of non-clinical products & services and, together with your team, be responsible for ensuring best value contracts are awarded in a compliant and legal manner.

You will be required to analyse market conditions appertaining to the product/services portfolio and offer advice as the optimum routes to market, utilising national, regional or local frameworks. The Procurement Department is targeted with a cost improvement programme and your contribution supporting the Non-Clinical Contracting Team is vital to the financial sustainability of the Trust.

Good demonstrable leadership skills are essential as are communication, customer engagement, negotiation and organisational skills. The ability to work both individually and as a team is vital.

You should have a strong procurement / commercial background with a proven track record of delivering complex contract projects ideally gained with some public sector exposure.

You will need to demonstrate very good concentration skills as you will spend considerable time assessing products/services. You will need to show a keen desire to be part of a team that helps bring positive changes and efficiencies to the Trust.

This is a full time position 37.5 hours a week Monday-Friday.
