The Role


We are currently looking to recruit to our established and successful Herts Secure Services, in our recent CQC inspection our Service and the Trust received a rating of Outstanding . For the last 5 years our unit has also been rated within the top 10% of Low Secure Services, a network hosted by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Registered Nurses, with a qualification in either Learning Disability or Mental Health Nursing who would like to work within a forensic setting either on full time or part time basis

If you are highly motivated, enjoy working within a Multi-Disciplinary
clinical team to deliver high standards of care to service users with a learning disability and/or acute mental health needs, you are the person we need to join our team.

Preceptorship
The aim of Preceptorship is for the newly qualified nurse to engage in a structured process of support and development ensuring a safe and enjoyable period of transition from student to newly qualified nurse.

The period of support, development and guidance will be for 1 year.
The Preceptorship model used encourages the Preceptee to engage in the development of professional skills, knowledge and competency.

You will be supported by an experienced practitioner to openly discuss and reflect your learning experiences.

A statement of completion will be recorded for inclusion into your PREP portfolio.

All newly qualified nurses will engage in a formal learning experience inclusive of 11 study days specific to your role as a newly registered nurse.

Annual leave
You get 27 days on starting, 29 days after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years service (excludes bank holidays).
If you already have NHS service then we will honour this in terms of your annual leave entitlement.

Vaccination as a Condition of Deployment (VCOD) for Healthcare Workers
Candidates offered a role with the Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust , who are aged 18 and over and who will have direct, face to face contact with service users as part of their role will be required to evidence that they have received a complete course of an approved COVID-19 vaccine, subject to limited exceptions, by no later than 1 April 2022. This will include front-line workers, as well as non-clinical workers not directly involved in patient care but who nevertheless may have direct, face to-face contact with patients, such as receptionists, ward clerks, porters and cleaners.
