The NHS Norfolk and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group (NWCCG) is a clinically-led NHS organisation, responsible for commissioning (planning and purchasing) integrated health and social care for the people of Norfolk and Waveney.

It’s an exciting time to join our new Mental Health Strategic Commissioning Team!

Context of the role
We are looking for a dynamic experienced Manager to assist with the ambitions for Neurodevelopmental disorders(NDD) including both Autism and Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, as well as other neuro diverse conditions. Currently Children and Adults wait too long to receive assessments and we know further work needs to be undertaken to improve our pre and post diagnostic support offer.

The challenge is to ensure we have sufficient health provision to meet the health needs of those people with some of the most complex presentations, due to the barriers that exist in society for people with Neurodevelopmental Disorders. We must ensure we engage with the wider system including social care and the voluntary and community sectors, to ensure that the workforce, people with lived experience, and their carer’s, have confidence in services across the Norfolk and Waveney footprint.

The Role
We are seeking a leader with a background in project management and commissioning who can work alongside our clinical teams and our social care commissioners to develop pathways that combine clinical, therapeutic, and social care input to improve care and support for people presenting with neuro diverse conditions.

You will need to develop strong and effective partnerships county councils, especially operational social work and commissioning colleagues, partners, voluntary community sector organisations and have a commitment to co-production of services for people with Neurodevelopmental disorders and their families and carers. You will be able to build on your knowledge and link with other areas nationally and regionally think of ways to transform the current model, enabling people with NDD to have their presenting needs met in a timely, safe and effective way.

Your role will be to ensure we deliver on our vision of improved community mental health care for people with Neurodevelopmental disorders.

About You
The successful candidate will have proven and extensive experience of working within and co-ordinating large, complex transformation programmes, evidencing highly developed negotiation and influencing skills in sensitive and political situations, nationally, regionally, and locally.

Hybrid Working

The CCG operates a flexible approach to working. It is expected that our staff will work from a combination of home and office (where possible). For staff designated in a hybrid role they should have a safe and suitable place to work with Broadband access and space for a desk, chair and monitors.
