We provide mental health, learning disability and autism services to a local population of over 755,000 across 45 sites, as well as specialist services for children and young people.


Our Health Care Support Workers work in a range of inpatient and community settings, with a variety of individuals across the lifespan - from child and adolescent services, through to working age and older adult and dementia care.

Alongside registered practitioners you will provide interventions to people struggling with mental health difficulties, including issues such as self harm and suicidal thoughts and dementia and work in collaboration with their family / careers. Your day to day will vary and depending on which area of the Trust you work in your duties may include:
•One to one work with patients in their home, supporting individuals attendance in health and social care settings, involvement in group activities and attending multidisciplinary meetings
•Teaching and supporting life skills, such as using public transport, paying for bills, managing a home to live independently, helping with personal care, shopping and meal preparation, engaging in hobbies/Interests and communicating with others.
•Providing emotional support for an individual and their families.
•Connecting with community resources and relationship building with other services.
•work with service users to promote independence, maximising daily living skills.
•Assist in maintaining general and specific patient observations under the supervision of registered nursing staff.
•Facilitate and participate in recreational and physical activities in the provision of health and social care to service users. ·
•Participate in the escorting of patients as required.
•Provide direct physical, social and psychological care to service users
•Undertaking patient observations
•Supporting patients to regain independence and confidence by helping them to gain new skills
•Support recovery to live as independently as possible to reach their optimal mental health
•To build and maintain therapeutic relationships whilst maintaining boundaries
•To support patients to complete activities of daily living including personal care, budgeting cooking etc

Whatever area of our organisation you work in, you will need to demonstrate a commitment to providing a high-quality standard of care, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards change, with an ability to contribute to the evolving nature of our services. Our services operation 24 hours a day and for some roles you will be expected to shifts over 7 days.
