FLEXIBLE, PART-TIME, AND REMOTE WORKING ON OFFER!!

We are excited to offer a fixed term or secondment opportunity for a motivated Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist to join our expanding Autism Diagnostic & Liaison team. This role is key in supporting our existing team with adult autism assessment and post diagnostic needs for autistic adults across Lincolnshire. We are looking for candidates who have experience of working with Autistic adults who may have complex unmet needs. The post holder will be experienced in leading the assessment of Autism in adults using structured tools and will take a clinical leadership role within the MDT.

This role plays a key role in shaping and developing the current services for autistic adults in Lincolnshire and would be a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about driving change for the local autistic community. This is also a great opportunity to work alongside some of the most compassionate staff that the NHS has to offer.

The MDT is clinically led by a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist (this post) who supports operational, strategic, and clinical delivery of the pathways. We work as an MDT to provide high quality, NICE compliant autism assessments. Our MDT is comprised of nurses, speech & language therapists, occupational therapist, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, assistant practitioners, assistant psychologist and peer support workers.

We receive referrals from a number of sources, for diagnostic assessments, signposting and post diagnostic liaison with our partner agencies and other LPFT divisions. We are developing extended post diagnostic services, which will likely include ‘navigation’ services and post diagnostic support, training, groups and short-term interventions for adults recently diagnosed with Autism. We also support Autistic people navigate health, employment and education services, and will be able to create and maintain positive working relationships with clients, their families and other organisations providing support.

Most of our clients are community-based and there is a great deal of working with carers and care systems. We have a well-developed role in providing training and advice to staff from other LPFT divisions, Social Services personnel, care providers and MDT colleagues. This role includes clinical leadership, training, support and supervision.

The successful candidate will support the team to complete audit and service evaluation as necessary. As part of this role, they will receive regular clinical supervision from the Consultant Clinical Psychologist who is the lead psychologist across the Autism & Learning Disabilities specialty. The successful applicant will also be able to provide clinical supervisor to junior psychologists as well as other members of the MDT. The Autism and Learning Disabilities Psychology speciality meet for regular CPD sessions and you will join an established group of 6 Registered Psychologists and 8 Assistant Psychologists as well as Clinical Psychologists in training from the local Trent DClinPsy course.

The successful applicant will cover an agreed area within the county of Lincolnshire, which will include both rural and town-based communities. The successful applicant will have to be able to travel to venues within Lincolnshire within journey times and in a manner acceptable to the Trust.

As a speciality we have good links with the local Trent DClinPsy programme and offer regular teaching and placements to Trainee Clinical Psychologists.

The post holder can work remotely for part of their role and we can offer flexible working as needed. We would also encourage applications from people who would class themselves as neurodiverse.

The service is closely aligned to the integrated community Learning Disability Team and Transforming Care Team, which employ a variety of professionals, who provide specialist mental health, physical liaison and behavioural support services to adults with learning disabilities; as well as providing the Autism Diagnosis and Liaison service (with/without Learning Disabilities) across Lincolnshire.

Lincolnshire offers affordable housing, good schools and easy access to the countryside. It is within reach of the major cities of the East Midlands and links into the East Coast Mainline.
