Vacancy – Procurement Officer

We are seeking to recruit a forward thinking, ambitious and commercially astute Procurement Officer to become a valued part of Tetbury Hospital’s growing administrative team on a Permanent, part time basis – 20 hours per week (9am – 1pm Monday - Friday)

The Opportunity

The post holder will work as part of both the clinical and non-clinical teams in delivering effective procurement services within the Trust through planning, sourcing and delivering the right quality goods and services on time at the best possible value for money for the charity.

Main duties of the job are:

  • To process orders and obtain quotation to support departmental and Trust requirements in a timely manner.
  • To work in partnership with hospital departments to establish user requirements, stock levels and investigate procurement needs. Benchmark and recommend appropriate compliant procurement solutions, highlighting savings opportunities
  • Support the departments in ad-hoc stock takes and the formal annual stock take as required by the trust’s Management Accountant.
  • The post holder will be an ambassador for the Trust, delivering care in an efficient, patient focused and professional way.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • A thorough knowledge of MS office
  • A good standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent to include Maths and English
  • Previous experience of processing requestions and orders, with an understanding of purchasing principles and best practice
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

The Package

We can offer flexible hours up to 20.00 hours per week, with an hourly pay rate of between £ 10.40 -11.14. This role is a Grade S (Similar to NHS Band 3). The Hospital offers staff benefits which include pension scheme (continuation in the NHS pension is possible subject to pension rules), a discretionary bonus scheme and a starting full-time holiday entitlement of 25 days holiday (plus Bank holidays).
