Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust have a number of exciting opportunities for Apprentice Healthcare Assistants to join our clinical ward teams, based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. This Healthcare Support Worker (Level2) Apprenticeship offers you the chance to earn a salary, gain valuable work experience and new skills, whilst being supported to achieve a qualification. This is an opportunity not only to build your skills and confidence, but will also open up a wealth of possibilities for your future career within the NHS and its unique workforce.
We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, self-motivated, committed as well as caring and respectful. You will also be keen to learn and willing to be flexible to meet the changing demands of the service. Applications welcome from school and college leavers age 16 years+
Duties to include:
Deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting) with a focus on
promoting patient centred healthcare and promote independence
Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values
Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual
Carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse
Work with their assessor, supervisor, manager and professional development team to take responsibility for developing own clinical competence, leadership and reflective practice skills within the workplace, while on placements and through attending the apprentice level 2 programme
Provide feedback to assist in the evaluation of the healthcare apprentice programme
Develop by the end of the apprenticeship level 2 programme the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual’s defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the healthcare support
