Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust have a number of exciting opportunities for Apprentice Healthcare Assistants to join our clinical ward teams, based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. This Healthcare Support Worker (Level2) Apprenticeship offers you the chance to earn a salary, gain valuable work experience and new skills, whilst being supported to achieve a qualification. Duties to include:

• Deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting) with a focus on
  promoting patient centred healthcare and promote independence

• Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values

• Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual

• Carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse

• Work with their assessor, supervisor, manager and professional development team to take responsibility for developing own clinical competence, leadership and reflective practice skills within the workplace, while on placements and through attending the apprentice level 2 programme

• Provide feedback to assist in the evaluation of the healthcare apprentice programme

• Develop by the end of the apprenticeship level 2 programme the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual’s defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the healthcare support
  worker role

Apprenticeship Training Details:

• Apprenticeship Standard – Healthcare Support Worker, Level 2
• Training provider will be Dynamic Training. Please note: by applying for this opportunity you are consenting for us to share your application details with our Training Provider for recruitment and eligibility purposes.
• The Apprenticeship will be on a fixed term contract for 18 months with opportunity to apply for roles within the NHS on completion.
• Salary will be paid at National Apprentice wage currently £4.81 per hour with a yearly salary of £9379.50 for the first 12 months and minimum wage for age until completion.
• You will work 37.5 hours per week with on the job and off the job learning opportunities and 20% paid study time (6 hours a week).
• 27 days paid annual leave plus Bank Holidays.

Eligibility:

Candidates must evidence:

• English Level 2 is essential - GCSE grade C/4 or above, or equivalent in Functional Skills Level 2.
• Maths Level 1 is essential - GCSE grade D/3 or above, or equivalent in Functional Skills Level 1.
• Do NOT have a degree level qualification or higher in Business Administration or similar related subject.
• Have NOT completed an NVQ/QCF/Apprenticeship Standard Level 2 or higher in Business Administration or Customer Service or have considerable prior experience in an administrative or customer facing role.

Candidates who have previously started or part completed a Business Administration Level 2 or Customer Service Level 2 Apprenticeship, are requested to declare this on their application form.
