This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of our organisation as we are going through a period of growth and looking to recruit a talented Medical Secretary to our professional and friendly team.

Full time hours are preferable, but part time applications will be considered.

The role provides an advanced secretarial service to the Consultants and medical teams, accurately co-ordinating medical information to expedite the continuing care of the patients.

The ideal candidate will have previous secretarial experience, ideally within a hospital or NHS role, with excellent word-processing, audio typing and keyboard skills. The post holder will be able to manage their workload efficiently and effectively on a daily basis making decisions pertaining to the smooth and efficient running of the department acting independently, but escalating where necessary. You will have the ability to build excellent working relationships, communicating effectively with a diverse group of people, within the secretarial team, wider DHC community and with all parties within GP practices, healthcare providers, local authorities and social services. You will have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, have the ability to adhere to confidentiality at all times and have excellent writing skills to generate letters. You will be organised and have the ability to prioritise your workload and remain calm whilst working under pressure to meet deadlines.

The role will be based within Outpatients at Dorking Hospital but occasional visits to other DHC outpatient sites may be necessary. We offer a good working environment in a friendly, progressive team.
