We are looking for a experienced, highly skilled and motivated Physiotherapist to join our Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Team as a Band 7 Team Leader within the Southampton locality of Solent NHS Trust.

The Solent MSK service prides itself on developing individuals and this would be an opportunity for individuals who want to develop in their MSK career. With the challenges MSK Services face with restoration from Covid, increasing demand and new ways of working there are many opportunities for individuals to grow and develop into leaders of the future.

The Solent MSK Service has a high standard of teaching and provides regular training and clinical supervision. You would have the time to consolidate skills and further develop as the service is actively involved in research, quality improvement and service development initiatives.

With the introduction of First Contact Practitioner it is an exciting time to be in MSK service delivery. We are rolling out FCP provision across the south coast and successful candidates would have the opportunity to be involved and develop in this new initiative. We have both a remote and inhouse service delivery across 10 PCNS and what to support individuals developing their Advanced Practice skills and fulfilling the FCP road map if interested.

We have a good support network and clinical teams are led by our Pathway Leads in collaboration with Clinical Specialists. We have newly appointed MSK Consultant roles who are hugely involved in shaping the clinical future of the MSK service. We have close links with our colleagues in Persistent Pain, Long Covid and Podiatry services We have a varied caseload with primary care and self-referrals to give individuals a wide exposure to MSK patients. We have specialties in Pelvic Health, Hands, Adolescent MSK and Hydrotherapy within our Portsmouth localities and we work alongside them ensuring there are many opportunities for individuals to develop and that the MSK patient is managed optimally within the Solent MSK Service.

You will take a major role in the advanced assessment and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal patients, alongside supporting less experienced staff. You will contribute to the education and training of the team, as well as having the opportunity to lead on service development projects.

The Team Leader role would really give you the chance to develop both clinically into advanced practice and managerially as an inspirational leader.

The current roles within our West locality of Portsmouth has main bases at the Stoneham Centre, Moorgreen Hospital and at the Adelaide Health Centre, although staff are expected to work from a variety of sites across the city as needed.
