Consultant Urologist

Applications are invited for a Consultant Urologist at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The post will be a substantive appointment to join the existing team of four substantive consultant colleagues at North Devon District Hospital (NDDH).

We are an innovative Trust and use cutting-edge technology to make things happen quickly enabling you to make a real difference in your specialty. We are in the process of implementing a full EPR which will further support innovation.

NDDH works closely with Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (RDE) to deliver urology and oncology care in a clinical network. There is an on call commitment locally with prospective cover locally. Whilst the post holder is formally being appointed to a role within the base hospital of NDDH, over time there may be a need to provide some clinical activity in the partner hospital site (RDE) to ensure service continuity and equity of access to appropriate services.

The department has a team of 2 Specialty Grade Doctors, 1 core surgical trainee, 1 foundation year doctor, one physician associate and Clinical Nurse Specialists.

Located in the South West of England, North Devon is recognised as an area of outstanding natural beauty. It extends from the edge of Exmoor in the east to Lundy Island in the west and the Taw Valley in the south providing contrasts of moor land, downs, valleys, rugged cliffs and golden sandy beaches, thus providing a range of interests and activities.

Applicants must be fully registered with the General Medical Council with licence to practice and be eligible for inclusion on the GMC’s Specialist Register (or expected entry within six months from the date of interview).
