Diabetes Specialist Midwife - Band 7

Part-time 22.5 hours per week

We have a reputation for offering the highest clinical standards which are innovative and forward thinking.  Our maternity service has around 3800 deliveries a year and a Level 3 NICU. As an Early Adopter site for Better Births, Ashford and St. Peter’s as part of Surrey Heartlands has a great opportunity to deliver improved outcomes, experience of care, and services to reduce inequalities. As such we have a number of exciting projects we are embarking upon. We have extended our Diabetic specialist team and our service needs a motivated and inspirational individual to join the Diabetic Team as a Band 7 to help lead the service forward.                                        

Appreciating the diversity of our women and possessing a high level of clinical standards, you will seek to improve patient safety, provide excellent care and be open to innovation as well as being involved in service development    

The expectation is that you will be already working at an advanced level, with a wide range of clinical skills and can support junior staff whilst ensuring quality care provision to women.  You will be able to communicate with all staff groups, lead a team, have a strong ethos around delivering high standards of care and be willing to take part in the managerial and leadership activities at a Band 7 level.                                                

This role is a fabulous developmental opportunity to those of you who are interested in developing your skills to the next level and will give you a wide range of transferable skills to further your career.  You will be given targeted support and training to assist you in your journey.
