Healthcare Scientist

NHS Blood and Transplant is an integral part of the NHS, collecting and processing 2 million blood donations a year. Our Healthcare Scientists provide crucial support to NHS Hospitals, processing, testing and issuing blood and its components and delivering diagnostic and therapeutic services relating to the transfusion of blood and stem cells, transplantation and tissue banking.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team in the Advanced Therapies Unit (ATU) laboratory at Filton. The post will be a 6 month secondment in the first instance.

 

Our work in ATU is central to the development of advance cellular therapies. Working with academic and commercial partners, we aim to be at the forefront of clinical improvements related to these novel therapies and to use our expertise in GMP, quality and regulatory matters to promote other areas of development.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Scientist who is looking to develop expertise in the development of advanced therapies. A good team player, you’ll be capable of motivating both yourself and others as you tackle a wide variety of tasks.
