We are looking to recruit a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Portsmouth IAPT Service. The post-holder will work within the IAPT service providing high volume low intensity interventions to people with mild to moderate depression and anxiety disorders in accordance with NICE guidance and IAPT national programme recommendations.
The post holder will attend Reading University to complete a PGCert Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Training, alongside clinical work.
The Step 2 team provide both telephone and face to face support to clients undertaking self-help programmes and lead psychoeducational workshops and courses in a range of areas. PWPs are encouraged to develop an area of special interest, consistent with service need, and to contribute to the overall development of the team and services provided.
Talking Change is a well-established and high performing Increasing Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) service provided by Solent NHS Trust and commissioned by NHS Portsmouth CCG. The service was launched in 2009 to provide evidence based psychological interventions for the population of Portsmouth in primary care. The service has recently been funded to expand as part of the national and regional initiative to help improve access for LTC and Military Personnel and their families and carer.
We have a clinical team comprising of therapists, practitioners and counsellors as well as employment advisors. The clinical services provided to clients are supported by competent, friendly and efficient Admin team. The counselling team provides brief counselling as well as IAPT non-CBT depression treatment such as EMDR, NET, DIT, CfD, Couple therapies for depression, and IPT.
