Nutrition and Dietetics
£32,306 - £39,027 Per Annum Pro Rata

Are you a registered Dietitian interested in improving the quality of life and care experience for paediatric patients and you want to live and work in North Devon, known as England’s adventure coast? The area has an outstanding beauty protection status and has recently become the first place in the UK to be selected as a World surfing reserve.

Are you a registered Dietitian wanting to develop skills within paediatrics and be part of a team striving to improve health, quality of life and care experience for children and their families? You would be part of our supportive dietetic team based at North Devon District hospital, part of the Royal Devon University Healthcare Trust. We are recruiting 1.6 Whole Time Equivalent Band 6 Paediatric Dietitians (37.5 hours per week substantive post and 22.5 hours per week 12 months fixed term contract). Dependant on experience of candidates the specific roles are negotiable with potential rotational opportunities.

We are excited to be launching a dedicated dietitian-led rapid access service for Cow’s milk protein allergy, to reflect similar successful models that have been set up across the South West. The roles could also cover but not be exclusive to nutritional support, faltering growth, home tube feeding, allergies, selective eating, weight management, IBS and some inpatients at the Caroline Thorpe ward.

The service will provide face to face, telephone and video support to families. There is opportunity to develop group education services. The hospital is situated close to the fantastic beaches of the North Devon coastline and Exmoor national park. There is a good road link to the M5, and rail service to Exeter and the national network.

Our teams of care professionals work with patients and their families to support peoples’ independence, health and wellbeing. We provide support to avoid hospital admissions, and if an admission is necessary, we try to make each patient’s stay in hospital as short and effective as possible before working with them on a safe discharge home.

In our most recent staff survey, our staff voted us in the top 10% of NHS provider organisations to work for and we also came out as the top provider in the South West for our overall results. Our patients (through the Friends and Family Test) regularly report an average of over 95% satisfaction with our services.

Please note that we may close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applicants.
