About the team

Our progressive and growing Plasma Collection Team is playing a pivotal role in the delivery of plasma through cell separation. We collect plasma to make life saving medications to support self-sufficiency for the treatment of patients in the UK. We ensure we provide an exceptional experience to our donors who make a difference to our patients lives.

About the role

You will inspire your team through positive leadership to provide exceptional and safe care for our donors and donated plasma. You will be a mentor to your team and provide support and leadership to further their development and performance. You will take ownership for the operational success of your team to ensure we deliver a first-class donor experience. Your responsibilities will include:-

• Leading day-to-day management of our plasma collection team to safely deliver sufficient supply to meet programme needs
• Ensuring that the plasma productsafelymeetsthe requirements of Manufacturing Practice
• Providing expertise on donor eligibility and clinical decisions to ensure the safety of our donors
• Managing, investigating and escalating any risks, or adverse/safety incidents to ensure prevention and to identify areas of improvement.
• Being a role model to drive change and improve services and safety through inspirational leadership and performance management
• Coaching and mentoring your colleagues in new procedures to ensure your team excels in its service delivery
• Demonstrating our values and behaviours to create aculture of inclusivity, listening and respect.
• Deputising for the Plasma Operation Manager and support neighbouring teams.
• Delivering an excellent donation experience to ensure exceptional donor care, satisfaction and retention

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

• Be a Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration (which must be maintained) as a Registered Nurse
• Be an advocate for change and be able to motivate your team to successfully transition and grow
• Have experience of mentoring and supporting the professional development of your colleagues
• Show an understanding of patient safety initiatives
• Have experience of working with Technology and be comfortable with using Microsoft Office packages
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Be an effective team member who can relate and build relationships with colleagues at all levels
• Be a great leader that can motivate others, promoting a clear sense of purpose and a positive attitude
• Have great attention to detail and be able to follow instructions to ensure we deliver good-practice services
• Have excellent organisation skills and be able to adapt to deliver multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
• Show great problem-solving skills and the ability to implement effective solutions
• Be able to work shifts which will include weekends and evenings
