This is an exciting opportunity to join our Business Support Team within the new Mental Health Support Teams in Schools (MHST).

The MHST have been set up exclusively with schools and colleges to deliver evidenced based interventions to young people with mild to moderate emotional and mental health difficulties. Teams will be expected to deliver individual and group interventions, working within a CBT framework, with young people, their parents and their schools. The teams are also working with schools to develop a whole school approach so we will be offering training, consultation and support to schools to develop this.

The role of the Business Support Administrator within the MHST will be to act as the first point of contact for our team, answering calls professionally and passing on messages efficiently and accurately to our clinicians. The role also includes the processing of referrals received into the team and the administrative needs of this process including updating our computer system, typing letters and sorting incoming/outgoing post.

This is a great opportunity to join our team in Solent NHS Trust Children & Families Service line to be a part of the MHST service, supporting delivery of high quality children’s emotional and mental health care. Job Responsibilities

Electronic systems -

  • Use and populate the electronic record system (SystmOne) with accurate information, to include scanning and uploading information in a timely manner.

  • Process MHST referrals coming into the service.

  • Accurately editing, formatting, and printing letters.

  • Photocopying and electronic filing accurately and securely.

  • Populate systems and databases required for service delivery.

  • Add and manage appointment slots on SystmOne.

  • Manage waiting list and allocate.

General Business Support Duties -

  • Support clinical team with room bookings and general queries including production of any required resources.

  • Manage appointment bookings, updating electronic record system and sending appointment letters following trust guidelines and targets.

  • Liaising by telephone or in person with schools, parents, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals. This should be carried out in a positive, friendly, calm, and sympathetic manner, using good judgement to identify requirements in order to pass on accurate information correctly or take appropriate action.

Personal Skills/Qualities

  • Excellent Communication Skills, written and verbal.
  • A knowledge of and commitment to Equal Opportunities and Promoting Diversity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across a range of agencies.
