Due to the success of the current Dietetic Prescribing Support team providing an enhanced service across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, additional funding has been secured on a permanent basis to expand this team even further. This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated dietitians to be a part of our successful team and we have several positions available. You will join the existing Prescribing Support team which already has strong links with the Medicines Optimisation Teams working towards embedding the dietetic service within the Primary Care Networks.

Leicester Nutrition and Dietetic Service (Community) has a team of approximately 70 staff working in primary care, mental health, public health and home enteral nutrition and is made up of dietitians, community nutritionists, dietetic support workers and support team staff covering the population of LLR. You will be a part of our Dietetic Prescribing team and will also work closely with the CCG Medicines Optimisation Team, GPs and practice staff across Primary Care Networks to ensure oral nutritional supplements (ONS) are used effectively and The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Area Prescribing Committee (LLR APC) ONS guidelines are followed. The role is being developed further so we may also be involved in the review of other prescribable nutritional products in the near future. You will work in GP surgeries in one or more Primary Care Networks and with care homes across the locality with responsibility for the clinical input, training, service evaluations and developments in delegated care homes. You will work very closely with our Dietetic Support workers including line management, supervision etc. We are therefore looking for dietitians who have excellent communication skills as well as organisational, management and leadership skills to be involved in the exciting expansion of our prescribing team.
