What is it like to work for CAMHS?

A few words from a member of the team - 'I really enjoy working for Solent CAMHS as we have such a supportive and friendly team. I enjoy working in an environment where I am constantly learning and developing my skillset and value being able to go to others in the team who have a broad range of experience and skill, so that we can learn from one another.'

Solent CAMHS (Southampton) are transforming the way in which they deliver services to children and young people with ADHD and wider Neurodevelopmental needs. As part of our new pathway we are looking to recruit a Speciality Doctor with a special interest in Neurodevelopmental disorders to complement our current skill mix.

You will be working within a strong multi-disciplinary Specialist CAMHS team with strong links to our Community Paediatric Medical Services. We are looking for candidates who share our passion and commitment to high quality, responsive and timely service delivery.

The post will provide opportunities for successful candidates to utilise and develop their skill set across quality improvement, service development and delivery, and audit and research.

We are committed to working in strong partnership with children and families and wider partner agencies and as such are looking for colleagues who share the same passion in co-production and integrated working.

We welcome applications from candidates who can bring knowledge and skills to help us build on our success; to create a high quality, efficient and effective system to address demand and capacity issues and expertise in the area of neurodevelopmental disorders. It would be desirable to have additional training in the use of specific diagnostic tools, competencies and clinical experience in assessment of children with ADHD and/or social and communication difficulties.

This is an exciting post which will appeal to colleagues committed to improving the mental health of children and young people. We welcome informal discussions about the post and look forward to hearing from you. Please get in contact with Dr Anna Gibson (Lead Clinician and Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist) or Chantal Homan (Service and Quality Manager) on 023 8103 0061.
