Working as a Dietitian is so much more than just knowing what foods to eat.

Being a Dietitian is working collaboratively and holistically, as part of the MDT to create bespoke, patient centred nutritional care plans alongside our Nurses, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.

MY Therapy are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic Dietitian to work alongside the existing dietitians and support staff for the development, organisation, planning and delivery of a comprehensive community dietetic service.

The position involves working in the community to provide dietetic input to a range of patients in settings such as patients own homes, care homes, the rehabilitation unit and educational group talks and would suit anyone with a keen interest in nutritional support.

We provide education sessions to both patients, carers and our colleagues in an assortment of different settings to improve their knowledge and awareness of a variety of nutritional matters.

MY Therapy has numerous bases across the Wakefield district and with the benefit of mobile technology you will be provided with the equipment you will need in order to work more in an agile way, which gives the freedom and flexibility to start and finish from home or in one of the office bases.

MY Therapy understand the importance of having an excellent work-life balance. We fully understand and appreciate the importance of staff well-being. We have access to the trusts excellent well-being resources and the occupational health well-being psychology team as well as the trusts flexible working policy.

MY Therapy have a dedicated weekly Dietetic meeting where the team discuss their caseloads and provide support to each other to ensure that all patients are receiving the best from our team, we also incorporate CPD time into the meeting to ensure that learning opportunities are given to all.

The team has the added benefit of a dedicated Clinical Educator Role within MY Therapy who we work closely with in all aspects of clinical education.

The successful candidate will be involved in the provision clinical supervision, where you will supervise colleagues from band 3 to band 5.

There are opportunities to become involved in becoming a champion in many areas such as documentation, safeguarding champions and social media champions just to name a few.

The department works closely with the Mid Yorkshire Nutrition and Dietetic Department based in the acute setting to provide the training of A, B and C students from Leeds Beckett University.

The Community was rated as ‘Good’ when last inspected by the CQC and the successful candidate will instil the Trusts values and behaviours in ensuring quality services continue to be delivered and to strive for further improvement.
