Inpatients Dietitian - Band 6

Full Time: 37.5hrs Per Week

Would you like to join a supportive, innovative, and respected dietetic department and contribute to maintaining and developing the high quality nutrition and dietetic service that’s currently delivered across Ashford and St Peter’s NHS Foundation Trust?

We are looking for a Dietitian interested in a desire to grow, both the role and your professional skills and knowledge and to embrace new ways of working within an ever changing NHS, whilst remaining committed to making an effective contribution to training the next generation of health care professionals, reaching the Trust’s vision, departmental service plans and promoting the dietetic profession.

The main roles and responsibilities of the job include:

  1. Working as a member of the Medical dietetic stream and providing specialist clinical dietetic assessment and care planning for inpatients and outpatients, focusing on nutritional needs specific to client groups, e.g. respiratory patients
  2. Working within MDTs providing specialist nutritional advice and support, as appropriate, to facilitate the effective nutritional management of patients whilst in hospital and on discharge
  3. Contributing to the development and updating of information leaflets and other resources produced by the department
  4. Taking an active role within the general functioning of the Dietetic Department, including contributing to student training, supervision of staff members, and service development.

General responsibilities

  • In conjunction with other department members to promote nutrition education in the local community, through talks and/or production of resources.
  • To represent and promote the dietetics profession as the expert source of nutrition and dietetic information
  • To support the department and organisation by carrying out any other duties as qualified and able.
