*Please note the Job Description is RCP approved*

This is a full time permanent post but those wishing to pursue part time working are very welcome. The post is based at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital and is an exciting time to join the team as we are developing and improving our stroke services. We are looking for a consultant to be actively involved in the service and would welcome candidates with a diverse range of interests who wanted to spend time pursuing other specialist interests for example, neurorehabilitation, neurology, thrombectomy, research and any others and we would seek to facilitate that with interested candidates.

Acute Stroke services are centralized on the Worcestershire Royal Hospital site fo all of Worcestershire offering a 20 bedded HASU/ASU. This resulted in Hyperacute Stroke, Acute Stroke, and ambulatory High-Risk TIA care being provided from a single location at Worcester with mechanical thrombectomy provided 24/7 at University Hospitals Birmingham (Queen Elizabeth). There is ongoing discussion within the region about further centralisation that may lead to provision of additional stroke services at Worcester for the Herefordshire population with expansion of the unit and workforce.

To this end we are seeking to recruit well trained and motivated applicants who are able to contribute energy, quality and ideas to this important clinical service as well as aiming to improve our current SSNAP rating and the postholder will participate in the Network or local rota.
