Band 7 Team Lead – Integrated Care Mental Health

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Team Lead to lead the Integrated Care Mental Health Team within Leicester City, for Mental Health Services for Older People.

You will be the senior clinician who manages and leads a diverse skill mix of clinicians: mental health nurses, occupational therapists and health care support workers, within a multi-disciplinary team. You will have responsibility for supervision, leadership and service development within the team. You will hold a clinical caseload providing comprehensive mental health assessment and intervention to people over the age of 18 years who have long term physical health conditions and co-existing mental health issues.

Our integrated team consist of GP’s, Clinical Leads and District Nurses where a multi-disciplinary team approach is essential in providing holistic care.

You would lead an established team and would need to demonstrate flexibility and a commitment to high standards of patient care. You should also demonstrate good mental health assessment and intervention skills. You need to be able to work alone and as part of a team.

The team has close working partnerships with Social Services, the voluntary sector and secondary mental health care. There is an expectation that you would provide some education and teaching regarding mental health issues, to other staff.

We have a strong commitment to supervision, training and regular appraisal, which you will receive and deliver to the team.

You will need excellent communication and organisational skills and be a team player with evidence of experience in leading and managing teams. You will need to be a car driver and able to use your vehicle for work.

It is highly recommended that you arrange an informal visit in order that you can gain an insight into the Integrated Care Mental Health Team.
