An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Safeguarding Team for a full time Safeguarding Facilitator working across Adults and Children. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse, therapist, or social worker to develop their safeguarding skills and knowledge, within the safeguarding arena. The post holder will use their excellent communication skills to provide specialist knowledge, advice, and clinical expertise in safeguarding to all staff at Solent NHS Trust and within multi agency forums.

We are looking for a committed, professional individual who can demonstrate passion and drive for safeguarding. You will be working in a dynamic safeguarding team; working closely with Solent staff, our multi-agency safeguarding partners, the four local Safeguarding Children Partnerships, and Safeguarding Adult Boards to ensure that the needs of children and young people, and adults are paramount.

There is a possibility for Safeguarding Facilitators to support the development and delivery of high-quality safeguarding practice within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). There will be participation at Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) for domestic abuse cases and other multi-agency forums as they arise. The role will include providing specialist safeguarding knowledge and advice to all Trust employees, including development and delivery of safeguarding training. There is an expectation for Safeguarding Facilitators to support with commissioned local Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews, Safeguarding Adult Reviews, and internal serious incident reviews including where required undertaking safeguarding audits/ evaluations.

The Safeguarding Facilitator will work closely with the Lead Professional for Safeguarding Adults and Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children to ensure appropriate quality assurance mechanisms in all areas of safeguarding practice are in place and be integral in developing effective communication strategies within the Trust and with other agencies and professionals involved in this area of work.

Please note although this posts’ office base is in Southampton there is a requirement to work regularly across Hampshire and IOW to meet the safeguarding requirements of our organisation.
