Applications are invited for the position of Clinical Support Worker within the Community Paediatric Medical Service (CPMS) covering locations including Portsmouth City, Havant, Fareham and Gosport.

CPMS offers a specialist service for children and young people with a range of developmental needs, including physical and/or learning difficulties. This includes detailed medical assessments, investigations, diagnosis, treatment or interventions according to need. The service is mainly delivered in community clinics, but children may also be seen in special schools and occasionally in a hospital setting.

In the role, you can expect to provide clinical support and administrative assistance for the Community Paediatricians and the Nursing Team. Offer support before, during and after Neurodevelopmental and Looked After Children clinical sessions to ensure they run efficiently and effectively, whilst ensuring the health and wellbeing of the children and young people is always priority. When requested carry out relevant assessments e.g. Schedule of Growing Skills, vision, hearing, and growth screening. You will be responsible for the preparation of clinics and any follow up required, replenishing stocks, tidying clinic rooms, ensuring toys and equipment are in good working order and that Infection Control guidelines are followed for the disinfection and cleaning of used equipment.

The role requires attention to detail using the Electronic Patient Records System, accurately and other administration tasks along with plenty of direct clinical contact with patients and their carers. An ability to work well as part of a team and be able to adapt to change within a busy environment is vital. Training will be provided where required along with regular supervision and support.

For this post, you will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to the use of a car.
