An exciting opportunity to join a brand new team based in Southampton that will be responsible for the purchasing, picking, packing and stock control of medical wound dressings for the Community Nursing teams currently based in Southampton.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a full and high quality Stores service for the nursing teams currently based at Broadcast House SO16 4QE, Royal South Hants Hospital and Bitterne Health Centre.

You will provide supervision to staff to assist in providing an effective and professional stores service that delivers ongoing cost efficiencies/benefits to the Trust in line with departmental objectives. Over time, the post holder will gain full knowledge of a vast range of products which are important for the end user.

The successful applicant will be a strong team player, with a strong consistent focus on producing high quality work. Although you will primarily be based at one location, there will be times when you will be needed to work from one of the other two sites across Southampton and so it is essential you are able to travel when required.

Your role will involve supervising and working with others to order, pick, check and pack a large amount of items, ensuring they are all processed and completed on a daily basis. Team working skills are key for this role although you will also have the opportunity to work autonomously at times. You will line manage a small team of stores assistants.

With a strong attention to detail, you will be flexible in moving tasks as required, and working to deadlines. Other tasks include assisting with loading/unloading deliveries and collections and stock checking. Ability to move / lift bulky (and sometimes heavy) stock utilizing the appropriate equipment
