Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) provides a range of community health, mental health and learning disability services for people of all ages. Delivered through over 100 settings from inpatient wards to out in the community, our 6,500 staff serves over 1 million people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.


We now have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly ward team at Ward 1 Stroke and ward 3 rehabilitation ward in Market Harborough. We are seeking flexible, energetic people with good communication skills and a desire to make a difference.

  • Ward 1 Market Harborough staff predominantly care for stroke rehabilitation patients and also has some patients with a wide range of health care needs including sub-acute medicine, rehabilitation and palliative care.
  • Ward 3 Market Harborough staff predominately care for patients admitted due to medical step up and step down as well as rehabilitation and palliative care.

We are offering an exciting opportunity to work across both of these settings.

The role

The principle role of the Healthcare Assistant is to assist the healthcare team in the provision and delivery of programmes of patient care. This includes:

  • Taking physical measurements from named patients users as delegated by the team;
  • Supporting patients in maintaining their health and wellbeing;
  • Undertaking specified and delegated clinical and therapeutic activities;
  • Under the supervision of healthcare professionals assist the healthcare team with the provision of clinical care;
  • Ensuring high standards are maintained in a safe environment, which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals;
  • Assisting Registered Professionals in the implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans; and
  • Accurately recording patient information.

We are looking for candidates already working in this area within a ward or care setting or can demonstrate transferable skills.

This is a full time/part time post working in a 24/7 environment. All posts are rotational. Additionally, we offer free parking on all our sites. You can apply for a specific ward or you can benefit from a six month rotation working within both ward settings to gain a wider range of skills, the choice is yours.

For rostered areas, these are set in advance at a team level and you will join an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date.
