We have an exciting Full-Time OR Part-Time flexible working opportunity for a Head & Neck Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to work alongside our Nursing & Therapies team at The London Clinic. We are offering a competitive salary range of £47,341 - £56,802 per annum, plus a £2K-£5K Golden Hello Signing-On Bonus!*

Job Profile

As the CNS you will provide specialist head, neck and thyroid nursing support to patients, families, medical, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals within The London Clinic, ensuring that this group of patients receives the highest standard of care and support from time of diagnosis and throughout the cancer pathway.

  • Job Location: This role is located at The London Clinic’s Duchess of Devonshire Wing in London, W1G 6JA (Close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations).
  • Job Type: This is a full-time OR part-time, permanent position working up to 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday. Working pattern is 9am to 5:30pm with flexibility required at times to meet service needs.
  • Salary: The attractive salary range for this role is £47,341 - £56,802 (inclusive of London Weighting) plus a £2K-£5K Golden Hello Signing-On Bonus!*

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively and autonomously, using expert knowledge and skills to design and deliver services across organisational, professional and geographical boundaries.
  • Lead the development of nursing practice, working in collaboration with all members of the multidisciplinary team and be the key link with other specialities.
  • Management of direct patient care and responsible for a clinical case load. Through critical thinking make autonomous evidence based clinical decisions to support patient care.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of in-house education and training programmes, as well as sharing skills and knowledge through teaching sessions.
  • Develop the skills of nurses and members of the wider MDT to empower and embrace them to provide a high standard of care to patients with Head, Neck and Thyroid Cancer and all patients receiving radiotherapy in accordance with NICE and relevant guidelines.


Skills & Experience

  • Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Post registration experience in an acute hospital setting with Surgical and Oncology experience in Head and Cancer
  • Post registration course within the Oncology specialism (or working towards).
  • Proven track record of recognised practice development initiatives with clinical leadership qualities, including team working and team building skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good problem solving and organisational skills.
