We provide Out of Hours (OOH) primary care and Extended Access appointments to the population of Cumbria as well managing several GP Practices. Our core bases are:

We have a fantastic opportunity for two Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners across Cumbria to join our outstanding team.
This is an apprenticeship programme in conjunction with the University of Cumbria and you will be expected to undertake the MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Level 7) programme. The start date for this course is 1st September 2022 and the successful candidates will need to meet the entry criteria from the University to commence on the course. The apprentices will need to work towards clinical competencies, portfolio and achieve academic work as set by the course provider.
Within the first year of training, all trainees will be supernumerary and will experience all aspects of CHoC with a focus on the out of hour’s primary care role. This will provide the foundations of knowledge and skills for our Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
Alongside working within CHoC, you will be supported to complete the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice with a dedicated clinical facilitator. CHoC also provide a focused and informative in house training programme and clinical supervision opportunities.
Candidates must be registered with a profession that is eligible to complete independent Non-Medical Prescribing training. As part of the apprentice standard, the minimum contracted hours allowable are 30 hours which will include evenings, weekends, bank holidays and study time.
On successful completion of the apprentice training program and obtaining an advanced practice MSc award, candidates will be eligible to apply for an ACP position at CHoC.
