Procurement Contract Support (9-month Fixed Term Contract)

£23,671.64 - £28,986.20 (depending on experience)

This role has a nominal base of Normanton (WF6) but the home location is flexible. Travel to the nominal base is expected from time to time. More information will be provided at interview.

We are looking for an efficient and capable individual to provide exceptional administrative support to our Procurement Specialists and Category Managers, enabling them to deliver a first-class service to the NHS and provide creative, cost-effective solutions for their toughest challenges.

As a Procurement Contract Support you will:

  • Process requests for new products, price changes, product alternatives and product discontinuations via our process and system procedures.
  • Maintain and revise associated logs and trackers which is an important part of the role, to keep our system activity, audit trails and catalogues up to date.
  • Liaise regularly with suppliers, Category Managers, Senior Category Managers and supply chain staff, nationally and regionally, to deliver better value, a high level of accuracy and an all-round outstanding level of service.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with all our internal and external customers, gaining trust and commitment by understanding their needs and requirements and providing them with successful outcomes.
  • Seek to resolve all invoice and ordering queries by identifying the root cause of the issue and rectifying it in a timely and satisfactory manner, always considering the impact on the customer and the business.

Who You Are:

As well as being able to provide evidence that you meet the essential criteria in the job description, CPP are keen to interview people who can prove that they have:

  • A good understanding of supplies and procurement procedures in the NHS or other public sector bodies.
  • An awareness of contract and procurement law including public sector procurement directives.
  • Excellent knowledge of customer relationship management.
  • A confident, articulate, and engaging manner.
  • A commercially driven and results focused attitude, and the ability to respond positively to pressure and demanding deadlines.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience of dealing with invoice and purchase order queries and a willingness to dig deep to get at the root cause of the issue.
  • Experience of having a busy and varied workload, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and achieve demanding deadlines.
  • Strong IT skills with excellent knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience of analysing large amounts of data, spotting trends and anomalies, with an exceptional eye for detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to work well independently and as part of a team and share knowledge supportively.
