“I spent the first 4 years of my career working as a nurse practitioner in an acute hospital environment, however I was looking for a change.
Prior to my nurse training I had worked as a domiciliary carer in the community and I really enjoyed working as an autonomous practitioner. This led me to apply for a job at Solent as a community nurse as I wanted to develop my leadership skills and care for patients in their own homes. I have developed multiple new skills in this role, have been in post for 2 years and continue to develop in all aspects of my career.
Solent have provided my with management and training opportunities which I can use for the rest of my career”.
David, Community Nurse
