BARNSLEY HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST

 

LOCUM CONSULTANT ANAESTHESIA WITH AN INTEREST IN OBSTETRICS

 

We have pleasure in inviting applications for a whole time or part time Locum Consultant post in Anaesthesia with a special interest in Obstetrics anaesthesia for 6 months. The successful applicant will join a team of 26 consultants and 12 specialty doctors. We also have six ST1/2s and five ST3/7s who rotate from Sheffield.

 

The Trust is an acute admitting trust with a modern and busy Emergency Department and this, along with the emergency theatre work is supported by the critical care and anaesthetic team as required.

 

The Anaesthetic Department provides a full range of anaesthetic services for general surgery including colo-rectal, urology, orthopaedics and trauma surgery, gynaecology, ear nose and throat, ophthalmology and oral surgery. There are eight in-patient operating theatres, two day surgery theatres and an obstetric theatre attached to the labour ward. Main theatres are situated in close proximity to the ICU, which is also near to the theatre recovery area. The Anaesthetic Department provides a full range of services to the Obstetric Unit where there are approximately 3000 deliveries per year. There is a 24- hour epidural service.

Enhanced Check: £38.00 + administration cost of £3.69 = £13.69 deduction from 1st months’ salary, then deduction from salary over following 3 months.
