You will join an established team of psychologists in providing psychological support to people who have a life-shortening illness, as well as to carers and other family members affected by the patient’s illness, and to individuals experiencing prolonged bereavements. This post is in connection with the Rowans Hospice based in Waterlooville.

The Psychology & Bereavement Service is a Solent NHS Trust Service that is delivered in partnership with Rowans Hospice, providing a service to Portsmouth City and Rowans Hospice services, as well as to the SE Hampshire and Fareham & Gosport locality under contract with Southern Health Foundation Trust. The service is based at Rowans Hospice and delivers specialist psychological support to patients with a life-limiting illness, their carers, and the bereaved.

The service works closely with health colleagues in delivering a holistic approach to patient care that addresses the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of patients and their families, as well as providing robust after-care to the bereaved. The service utilises a range of therapies based on each of our team’s unique experience and interests.

This post would be ideal for applicants wishing to develop their clinical skills in delivering psychological support within physical health settings. We are a supportive team and always will ensure that ample supervision and team support is available. A robust induction programme will be provided.
