Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) provides a range of community health, mental health and learning disability services for people of all ages. Delivered through over 100 settings from inpatient wards to out in the community, our 6,500 staff serves over 1 million people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We are looking for exceptional Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join our specialist Stroke Rehabilitation Team on Ward 1 at St Luke’s Hospital in Market Harborough.

The role of the Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse is pivotal within the team, and we are looking for someone who has strong leadership skills, a proactive approach to problem solving, a can-do attitude, and the ability to respond quickly to challenges.

The successful candidate will demonstrate they possess the same core values as our organisation, Compassion, Respect, Trust, and Integrity in all aspects of their work. You will be expected to provide clinical, managerial, and educational leadership to a team of registered and unregistered nursing staff and take an active lead in, or facilitate, the development of ward initiatives to improve the provision of care.

Ward 1 Stroke Unit are seeking nurses with a vision to be part of a multidisciplinary team providing exceptional stroke rehabilitation care. The successful applicant would have the opportunity to develop specialist skills in stroke care and also be involved in clinical audit for stroke to help us drive standards of care and develop stroke services.

The post holder, in the absence of the Ward Sister, will take responsibility for the management of the ward; ensuring the smooth day to day running of the ward and ensuring the wards systems and standards are maintained.

We offer stroke specific training and personal development within the ward and at our Learning and Development Centre to ensure you have the knowledge and skills to meet patient needs and complete your revalidation CPD requirements.

In addition we offer free parking on all our sites and a shift pattern that includes traditional 7.5 hour shifts and a long shift pattern. We offer flexible working patterns. We can clarify this at interview.

We are offering an attractive recruitment scheme for all new Band 6 employees, after three years employment you will be eligible for £2,000 per new employee (Subject to tax and NI and non-pensionable, terms and conditions apply) after 6 months employment we will pay £500 with further payments at 18 months £500 and 36 months £1,000.

The hospital site is easily commutable from Oadby, Kibworth, Corby, Kettering, Desborough, and Uppingham.
