Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

We are a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.

We work with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support to people in their own homes and from a number of hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.

An exciting new opportunity has been created for a Clinical Specialist to lead and work proactively with other relevant staff to develop and implement the Bucks SUN (Service User Network) Project for individuals experiencing symptoms associated to a Personality Disorder.

The SUN Project provides community-based, open access peer support groups and aims to help people develop effective ways of coping, reduce emergencies and improve access to appropriate services. Fundamental to creating empowerment and engagement in the SUN Project is the therapeutic community principle, that the effectiveness of the service depends upon engaging group members in the task of running, delivery, development and evaluation of the service. The utilisation of SUN members’ own resources and expertise is integral to the model of peer support upon which the SUN groups are based.

The postholder will liaise with stakeholder organisations; provide training, consultation and supervision to others working with this client group; help raise awareness of the associated problems; and to work on secondments from time to time in partner services in order to spread and develop expertise; take on clinical leadership roles within specified areas of the county.

The postholder will also be involved in developing and implementing other clinical interventions alongside the SUN Project.

The post holder’s office base will initially be at Easton Street, High Wycombe, with other team members for clinical work undertaken and they will have access to support from the team administrators. There will also be allocated hot desking space at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury. On some occasions the post holder may be required to use their own vehicle to transport clients for attendance at meetings or as part of the therapeutic process.
