The team

Leicestershire Outpatient CAMHS provides a specialist service to young people and families across the whole of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Clinical work is varied and challenging with the team supporting young people experiencing significant mental health difficulties relating to trauma, anxiety, low mood and where responses to distress can present concerns in terms of risk. CAMHS also provide specialist neurodevelopmental and cognitive assessments.

The Outpatients Psychology team consists of Qualified Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Associate Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists. We provide bespoke and formulation-driven assessment and therapeutic interventions in order to help the children, young people and families we serve move forwards in their lives from a position of strength.

As a team we draw on a variety of therapeutic modalities including CBT, systemic, psychodynamic, narrative, EMDR and ACT. Alongside this, we play an important MDT role by offering consultation, supervision, provision of in-house training/CPD and contribute to reflective practice and case discussion, whilst also working alongside MDT colleagues in offering initial triage assessments and care-coordination responsibilities. Supervision of Assistant Psychology and Band 7 Clinical Psychologists will be an important element to your role and our long-standing links to the University of Leicester DClinPsy training programme offers opportunities for teaching and supervision of a clinical psychology Trainee.

One post will be split between CAMHS Outpatient and CAMHS LD service, strengthening existing links between the services.

By joining our vibrant and nurturing team you will gain a wealth of experience, working dynamically and systemically whilst also contributing to systemic change at an inspiring time of service development.
