Staff Nurse, Paediatrics - Band 5

We are building our Paediatric Team!

We are currently recruiting Band 5 nurses to work across our Paediatric Day Unit and Outpatients Departments. We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals committed to excellent patient experience to join our team. Our department provides an ideal opportunity for newly qualified individuals to gain a wealth of experience within a friendly and supportive team.

Our Outpatients department is a busy unit covering a wide range of clinics including Allergy, Cardiac, Endocrine, Epilepsy and Urology. Paediatric Outpatients is split between St Peters Hospital and Ashford Hospital in our newly refurbished Children’s Unit and is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Oak Ward - our day unit is much more than just a surgical day unit, not only do we cover a wide range of paediatric surgery from ENT to Orthopaedics we also care for medical patients requiring specialist investigations to infusions.

We can offer a rotation between the units including rotating onto Ash Ward – our acute inpatient ward.

You are guaranteed to gain a wide range of knowledge and experience while working with a committed team who take pride in their jobs and their teams.

Previous experience is desirable but not essential. All staff are fully supported with a comprehensive induction program, preceptorship and in-house training as we encourage staff to develop in every aspect of their career. All new staff are fully supported by their colleagues, Ward Manager, Matrons, Clinical Practice Educators/Facilitators and Paediatric Clinical Nurse Specialists. If you are looking to work within a friendly, dynamic team with enthusiastic colleagues then this is the place to be. Good communication skills and a positive approach to work are essential. We encourage staff to take the opportunities available to develop their skills and their career by promoting rotation through our Children’s Services. We have close links with the University of Surrey, Kingston University and UWL which has enabled us to develop multi skilled practitioners.
