Our diverse geography which includes some very remote rural communities has driven our ambition to equip all our staff with the training, support and skills they need to deliver a higher level of care, enabling more of our patients to be treated closer to home and resulting in the lowest conveyance rate across the Ambulance Sector.

Our commitment to supporting our staff is by our dedicated clinical career framework, which supports the career development of paramedics into specialist and/or managerial roles with many of our current staff in these roles having developed internally.

Applicants must have held a full driving licence for at least 1 year, with no more than 6 penalty points allowed for some offences. You must also hold the C1 category on your driving licence.

Interviews and assessments are scheduled at approximately 6 weekly intervals, and shortlisting will be done in line with this timescale. All candidates will be informed of the shortlisting decision, although this may be outside of the SWAST standard 4 week notification period mentioned below.

We are currently not recruiting overseas for this position unless candidates have the UK driving requirements and HCPC registration.

‘This position is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. This means that you must declare all criminal convictions, including those that would otherwise be considered "spent" on the attached DBS Declaration Form.’

Unfortunately due to the current remote assessment process, we are only able to process applications from individuals currently practicing as Paramedicswithin the NHS. We will however hold your application on file until such time as we are able to re commence face to face assessments.
