We have specialist mother and baby, eating disorder and medium secure forensic mental health services and contracts across the country for IAPT, addiction and some health services in prisons as well as hosting a network for inpatient mental health care for serving military personnel.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the South Staffs Adult Social Care Community Teams for an experienced level 2 registered Social Worker.

Newly qualified social workers considered at entry Level 1 ASYE (band 5)

You will be part of the South Staffs planned care community team 3 working in partnership with colleagues within our wider care group and a good knowledge of the services available to support and promote independence in the home environment is essential.

The successful candidate should have at leave three years post qualifying experience and previous experience in social work in a community setting is desirable. The post holder will need to be a registered Social Worker and will have responsibility for completing statutory assessments under the Care Act 2014. The post will involve undertaking assessments, support planning, review and safeguarding enquiries of vulnerable adults. The successful applicant will be required to complete mental capacity act assessments and best interest decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act, 2005. The remit of the service is to support the citizens of Staffordshire predominantly over the age of 18 with physical disabilities and older people over the age of 65 with physical and mental health disabilities.

We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive and innovative individuals who possess excellent communication and organisational skills and have a good working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005. The successful candidate will have a flexible approach and be a team player who is able to forge excellent working relationships with multi-disciplinary teams and partner agencies.

You will be expected to work 08:30 – 17:00 (full time post) and have a full driving licence and access to a car.
