We have an exciting opportunity for an E Grade Senior Staff Nurse (Band 5/6 equivalent) to join our Oncology & Haematology Outpatients Unit based at our award-winning Cancer Centre (London, W1G) with an inclusive salary range on offer of £34,371 - £38,505 per annum.

Our Oncology & Haematology Outpatient department comprises of 22 individual areas for outpatient treatment and 2 fully enclosed private rooms. Our patients attend for day case chemotherapy and related treatments and/or consultant appointments.

 

Job Description

To be responsible for the delivery of high standards of care and service to the patients and to work within a team to provide assessment and evaluation of care.

  • Job Type: Full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours a week
  • Shifts: Monday to Friday, either 7.5 or 9 hours p/day - The unit is open from 08:30 to 18:00.
  • Salary: £34,371 - £38,505 per annum, depending on skills & experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient, effective and evidence-based nursing care to patients, including the administration of SACTs.
  • To use evidence-based practice, quality assurance and clinical audit in all aspects of nursing care.
  • Encourage good working relationships within the multidisciplinary team, and deputising for Sister/Charge Nurses in their absence.
  • To act as role model and being flexible in staffing situations whenever required.
  • To comply and be aware of the NMC’s guidelines and ensure that all aspects of confidentiality are upheld in relation to patient/employee records in accordance with The London Clinic’s data protection policies.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Post registration experience in Oncology, Haematology or in acute medicine.
  • Experience in the administration of cytotoxic drugs and relevant qualification.
  • Knowledge of oncological conditions & diseases, and knowledge of cytotoxic drugs & therapies preferred.
  • Evidence of good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to prioritise workload as well as work autonomously and as part of a team.
