As a healthcare assistant you will be a valued member of the team and support our nurses to look after our patients. You will be involved in a variety of duties such as bathing, toileting, and the monitoring of patient observations.

The service comprises of the below areas:

Henry Tudor Ward at St. Marks hospital, Maidenhead isa short stay 24 bedded inpatient rehabilitation ward is for adults who need nursing, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy care.

The Jubilee Rehabilitation Ward at Upton Hospital, Slough is a 22 bedded unit specialising in pain management programmes, hypermobility syndrome, chronic regional pain syndrome, shoulder, and peripheral nerve rehabilitation. The programme runs using cognitive behavioural therapy and involves the members of the multi-disciplinary team.

About the Job:

You will assist in the provision of care of patients and work in support of the qualified nurses and be directed and supervised by them to undertake assigned tasks. You will be involved in promoting self-care for patients and building health promotion into care as appropriate and be responsible for maintaining detailed, accurate and confidential patient records according to Trust policies. You will work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team and will be involved in discussion on the development of patient centred programmes. You will be aware of patients on Mental Health Act restrictions and record/report accordingly to qualified staff and respond to emergency calls under the guidance of qualified staff.

The must haves for you to be considered for this role:

  • Completion of your first Acute/Mental Health placement before commencing this post.
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Able to work effectively with colleagues.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment.
