We have a temporary full time placement opportunity available for an Assistant Procurement Business Partner.

This role is to start ASAP and is covering leave for 3 - 6 months.

 

You will be based at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Windmill Rd, Oxford OX3 7LD.

 

The working pattern is Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm and is 37.5 hours a week.

The role is a Band 5, paying £14.21 per hour.

The Trust provides academically led acute and specialist services, to people from the local area, from throughout the United Kingdom, and from overseas.

OUH is made up of four hospitals – the John Radcliffe Hospital (which includes the Children’s Hospital, West Wing, Eye Hospital, Heart Centre and Women’s Centre), the Churchill Hospital and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, all located in Oxford, and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury, north Oxfordshire.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To develop procurement projects - undertaking, implementing, and monitoring procurement

activities and contracts across divisional/category expenditure in line with best practice, Trust

SFIs/Policies, and for ensuring that these are implemented across the division/category.

  • Identification and development of non-pay savings schemes across the Trust working closely

with stakeholders and operational management to deliver these

  • Work closely with the Procurement Business Partner and Category Manager to which they are aligned to develop strategic sourcing plans and projects that maximise value to the Trust from the supply chain.
  • To deputise for the Procurement Business Partner/Category Manager
  • To increase contract coverage through the use of national contracts, LPP or Collaborative

Partners contracts and local contracts or any other similar arrangements

You will need to have:

  • Experience of managing complex procurement projects including business case, options appraisal, tender documentation, tender evaluation and contract award processes
  • A working knowledge of the NHS/Public Sector – and public sector procurement rules
  • Knowledge of Category Management techniques and experience of the development and implementation of category management plans and processes across significant categories of expenditure
  • Strong understanding of unlocking value from procurement & supply chain, such as sourcing, tendering, demand management, standardisation and contract management
  • Experience of working proactively with key suppliers to develop and adopt innovative products and solutions
  • Experience in Supplier Relationship Management, including supplier performance, continuous improvement and management of supplier expectations
  • Experience of consistently delivering savings and benefits targets
  • Experience of people management, coaching, mentoring supporting and developing staff.
