The Clinical Strategic Procurement Team looks after all the indirect spend categories that impact patient care. Our stakeholders have demanding objectives and we play a key part in delivering the best possible commercial outcomes. We contribute to the NHS’s Cost Improvement Programme and we are passionate about building strong relationships with our suppliers to implement contracts that truly deliver for our hospitals.


This role is a strategic position that requires the very best Stakeholder Management skills, a thorough knowledge of tendering, contract drafting and contract management. The Procurement Specialist will take ownership of their own projects covering multiple divisions across all WPL sites with the opportunity to support the wider clinical team. A flexible working approach is offered with this role which would be well suited to someone with a strong and demonstrable skill set within procurement, looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced environment.

  • Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply or able to demonstrate an equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Expertise in Contract Management and EU Procurement obtained through further formal training and significant experience.
  • Knowledge of professional purchasing principles.
  • Experience of working within the public sector or major corporation procurement.
