ABOUT THE TEAM
It’s an exciting time to join the team as we start to focus our attention on recovering from the challenges faced both post-pandemic and from other global external factors. The Clinical Strategic Procurement Team looks after all the indirect spend categories that impact patient care. Our stakeholders have demanding objectives and we play a key part in delivering the best possible commercial outcomes. We contribute to the NHS’s Cost Improvement Programme and we are passionate about building strong relationships with our suppliers to implement contracts that truly deliver for our hospitals.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
This role is a strategic position that requires the very best Stakeholder Management skills, a thorough knowledge of tendering, contract drafting and contract management. The Procurement Specialist will take ownership of their own projects covering multiple divisions across all WPL sites with the opportunity to support the wider clinical team. A flexible working approach is offered with this role which would be well suited to someone with a strong and demonstrable skill set within procurement, looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced environment.

Wessex NHS Procurement Ltd is a joint venture subsidiary of University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. WPL provides end to end Procurement and Supply Chain services, including strategic sourcing, value creation, tendering, contract and inventory management, distribution and materials management in to hospitals in Basingstoke, Winchester, Andover and Southampton. All our hospital locations offer nearby green spaces, local historical attractions and National Parks right on our doorstep.
