This is a key senior role in the Corporate Affairs and Assurance Directorate of the Trust, accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing review of the Trust’s Risk Management Strategy and provide expert advice on strategic direction for risk management within the Trust.

 

The post holder will be responsible for the continuous development of a proactive risk management culture and practice throughout the organisation. This will include actively promoting and ensuring good risk and governance practices, an open, just and fair culture and the achievement of national risk management standards and performance indicators.

 

The post holder will be responsible for the leadership and operational management of the Trust’s operational health & safety team which incorporates the manual handling team, ensuring robust arrangements for the execution of the Trust’s health and safety committee. They will ensure service delivery meets the legal requirements of the Trust and service users in accordance with national guidance and best practice, ensuring a robust programme of audit and assessment to identify areas requiring improvement in order to maintain compliance.

 

The head of risk and safety will work closely with the head of assurance and head of resolution, governance business partners, the executive management team and senior managers, leading on key risk, patient safety and health and safety issues to influence and deliver long term strategic frameworks and implementation plans specifically for risk management, patient safety and health and safety management, assurance and compliance.
