What does a Technical and Clinical Director do at NHS Supply Chain?
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Technical & Clinical Director (T&CD) will be responsible for leading and providing executive representation for the Technical and Clinical function, including owning the Clinical engagement model for the NHS Supply Chain. Specifying products and assuring both products and suppliers and owning the relationships with business-critical regulators including, but not limited to, the MHRA and HSE.
You will have accountability to assure that Category Management, however delivered, includes appropriate processes to supply to the healthcare providers, products which are of the target quality, deliver value and are appropriate to meet the needs of patient care. The Technical and Commercial Director will engage with a range of clinicians (nationally, regionally, and locally), patients, professional bodies, and other key national stakeholders to understand product range and work with colleagues across the NHS Supply Chain to ensure solutions achieve the needs of the healthcare family.
You will collaborate, participate and be responsive to the transformation and innovation of clinical pathways and relationships with the wider healthcare family including, but not limited to GIRFT and National Clinical Directors. In addition, you will ensure that a consistent and effective specification and assurance processes are consistently delivered, leading and setting national standards for clinical evaluation as part of Category Management activity.
