We have an exciting opportunity for talented and committed Registered Midwife to join our highly committed NHSP Bank team for West Hertfordshire NHS Trust with exciting development opportunities. West Hertfordshire NHS Trust is a dynamic and diverse Trust with a friendly and family style atmosphere; this role would consist of Day and Night duties for aBand 6Midwife.

Working in partnership with West Hertfordshire NHS Trust, NHS Professionals provides a service that combines intimate understanding of the Trust’s temporary and flexible workforce requirements with the reliability, quality and value for money that only a managed service can offer.

Payrates; Day £21.00ph, Night/Saturday £24.00ph, Sunday/Bank Holiday £29.00

Main Duties and Responsibilities;

 

  • Maintain NMC registration and ensure that Revalidation is up to date. Practice in accordance with the NMC The Code and the Standards for Midwives
  • Ensure that other NMC documents and Trust guidelines are adhered to. Maintain and develop professional knowledge and competence in accordance with NMC recommendations
  • Plan and provide individualised care based on careful history taking, medical and social assessment as early in pregnancy as possible
  • To promote and maintain standards of professional practice in order to enhance quality of care for clients
  • Work within the agreed guidelines, policies and practices and participate in the review of guidelines and practice
  • Be accountable for maintaining a safe and responsible approach to own sphere of practice.
  • Ensure good communication with appropriate team professionals/agencies/clients using discretion and maintaining confidentiality and a level of continuity and quality of care
  • To maintain legible and contemporaneous records at all times, reflecting the management of care
  • Communicate information effectively with clients to assist them in making informed choice regarding maternity care
  • Be aware of the Data Protection Act and confidentiality rules. Work towards the aims/objectives of the Trust’s Nursing and Midwifery strategy. Participate in research trials within the unit
  • Ensure that midwifery practice is current, and research based
  • Plan, organise and participate in Parent Education teaching in the clinical area
  • Advise of Family Planning, Sexual Health and Public Health Services available
