An exciting opportunity has arisen for Assistant Psychologists to join our Adult Community Mental Health Services in the West of Cornwall. You will join a growing team of psychological professionals, including practitioner psychologists, clinical associate psychologists, trainee clinical psychologists, psychological therapists, mental health well-being practitioners and psychology interns. You will work alongside these and other MDT colleagues to deliver and support the psychological care of adults with complex and enduring mental health needs who have often experienced significant trauma.

You will have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of duties, including provision of individual and group interventions, administration of clinical assessments, reviewing and synthesising information in clinical records, contributing to audit and joint working, and attending MDT meetings. Weekly clinical supervision and regular in-house training will be provided to support your practice, safeguard your well-being, and assist your continuing professional development. In addition, there will be opportunities to pursue externally-provided training according to your skills and interests, such the Masters-level Clinical Associate Psychologist training and Health Education England-funding training in psychological therapies (CBT, DBT, etc.).

You will have at least a good Honours degree (high 2:1 or above) that confers the BPS Graduate Basis for Registration. Previous experience as an Assistant Psychologist or in another health or social care role would be beneficial, as would experience of providing psychological interventions. You will also be expected to support outcome measures collection and audit and to produce reports under supervision. Currently, our staff are working from both home and work bases.
