The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust provides acute treatment and care for a catchment population of around 500,000 people in Bath, North East Somerset and West Wiltshire. Bank Healthcare Assistant - Band 2

We are looking for EXPERIENCED Health Care Assistants to join our Bank

Bank-Flexible working

As a Bank worker, you can book shifts just a few hours in advance and up to six weeks ahead. While there is no guarantee of work, there are plenty of opportunities with us. RUH is an acute hospital and our Bank staff are in-demand across most wards including Neurology, Gynaecology, Respiratory, Orthopaedic and Older Person wards. We have regular and occasional work to suit your needs and can offer flexible working patterns so you can work around other commitments.

These shifts include:

Early shifts: 0700 -1300 or 0730-1330

Late shifts: 1400-2000

Long days: 0700-1930 or 0730-2000

Night shifts: 1900-0730 or 1930-0800

(shift times depends on the ward you are working on).

There are 2 rates of pay for Health Care Assistants working on the Bank

  • Less than 5 years working in an acute hospital
    • Annual Salary: £18,546
    • Basic: £9.48
    • Plus Annual Leave: £10.63
    • Unsocial/Saturday/Nights: £14.99
    • Sunday/Bank Holiday: £19.45


  • 5 years or more experience working in an acute hospital
    • Annual Salary:£19,918
    • Basic: £10.19
    • Plus Annual Leave:£11.42
    • Unsocial/ Saturday/Night: £16.10
    • Sunday/Bank Holiday: £20.89
