PRACTICE EDUCATOR – PLACEMENT SUPPORT FOR MIDWIFERY

STUDENT SUPPORT TEAM

£32,306 - £39,027 per annum/pro rata (AfC Band 6 (Subject to Job Evaluation Outcome)

37.5 hours per week – 12 Months Fixed Term Contract / Secondment Opportunity

Throughout the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, health and social care workers have done a phenomenal job to care for and protect those most at risk from COVID-19. 

From 1 April 2022, subject to Parliamentary approval, it will become law that frontline health and social care workers in patient facing roles must provide evidence of a complete course of an authorised COVID-19 vaccine, unless they are exempt. 

Please note that it became law in November 2021 for anyone entering a care home to provide evidence of a complete course of an authorised COVID-19 vaccine, unless that they are exempt.

Applicants for roles within the scope of the regulations will be asked to evidence their vaccination status, or valid exemption, as part of the recruitment process.

Are you ready to shape and influence patient experience through the delivery of high-quality evidence-based learning and development opportunities? Do you enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise to develop others?  We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in education and development with experience of supporting learners, knowledge of NMC Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment and coaching skills.

This role will support midwifery areas in the allocation of pre-registration students, maximising capacity and work closely with Practice Assessors, Supervisors and Educational Leads to allocate students and establish new placement areas and pathways.

You will ensure clinical environments are suitably prepared and supported to provide educational placements. You will work across professional boundaries ensuring students and learners receive high quality clinical placement experiences.

In this role you will contribute to the future development of the learning environments as well as being a conduit for information between Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Higher Education Institutes, and Further Education.

This post is offered on a 12 month secondment / fixed term basis.  Please ensure you have support of your line manager if applying for secondment.

Enhanced Check: £40.00 + administration cost of £3.69 = £13.69 deduction from 1st months’ salary, £10.00 deduction from salary over following 3 months.
