Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK’s leading heart and lung hospital, treating around 50,000 patients each year. We are located in a new, purpose-built hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, with administrative services based in Huntingdon.

Founded as a tuberculosis colony in 1918, Royal Papworth Hospital has established an international reputation for excellence in research and innovation. Since carrying out the UK’s first successful heart transplant in 1979, the hospital now performs more heart, heart-lung and lung transplants each year than any other UK centre.

In addition to transplantation, Royal Papworth Hospital has the UK’s largest Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre (RSSC) and is one of five UK centres providing Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) to patients experiencing severe respiratory failure. It is also the only centre in the UK for a number of specialist services including Pulmonary Endarterectomy and Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA).

Clinical Educator -Band 7

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Clinical Education team at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. To do this, we are seeking a clinical educator who shares in our vision and values. We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional individual with drive and passion for mulit-professional education to join a dynamic team and to help the Trust maintain its position as one of the most innovative and leading Cardio Thoracic specialist NHS organisations.

The role is central to the planning, delivery and management of training programs across the professions and grades, both to staff and students within the organisation. You will be responsible for liaising with internal and external partners, education providers and Health Education England, as well as providing line management support to junior colleagues, thus ensuring the delivery, promotion, enhancement and evaluation of training and development. As a senior member of the team you will work closely with colleagues and peers collaboratively ensuring the portfolio of Clinical Education activity are delivered to the highest of standards.

Candidates will need to hold live membership with a UK regulated health care profession, and have previous relevant clinical experience at Band 6 or 7, with evidence for supporting learning and development. Candidates must also hold a teaching/training/mentor qualification or its equivalent.
