We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified Dental Technician to work within our busy Prosthodontic Technology department. Applicants must have an entry level qualification in dental technology (OND / HNC / BSc dependant on when and where qualified) and current registration with the GDC is essential.

You will need to demonstrate a high level of manual dexterity, a working knowledge of technical procedures relevant to prosthodontic technology, good communication skills and knowledge of laboratory health and safety. Experience working effectively with a range of laboratory materials is required and as CadCam techniques are increasingly being incorporated within the workflow, some prior knowledge and experience of such technology may be advantageous, though not essential at this time

Candidates must be self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and to prioritise work. A commitment to providing a quality service and an enthusiasm for professional development is essential.

Leeds Dental Institute is a teaching hospital hosting over 80,000 patient episodes per year and providing training and education for all members of the Dental Team. We provide a full technical service for around 500 clinical staff and students from our modern, well equipped laboratories.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the production of a range of removable full and partial acrylic and metal based dentures plus repairs, relines, additions, bite raisers, splints, stents, study models articulations etc.

The post holder will be given support and encouragement to develop themselves with potential for some of the more complex prosthodontic work and where possible the opportunity to undertake further qualifications relevant to the post.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an appropriate skills test for half a day expected to be held late February 2022. From the bench test only those candidates demonstrating the highest standards will be invited back for a formal interview.
